Cast Room Tools for Every Facility
Along with the fiberglass and plaster casting tape, and electric cast removal saws, we also offer many tools to facilitate the proper application and assist in painless removal of casts.
Cast spreaders are medical-grade prying devices the size of a regular pair of lineman's pliers. When inserted in to a small technician's cut in a plaster or fiberblass cast, the cast spreader may be used to expand the gap for inspection without requiring complete removal of the cast; or it may be used to aid in the removal of the cast around delicate or tight areas where a full-sized cast saw may not be advisable.
We offer bandage scissors in several styles and shapes to accommodate many difficult areas where a cast saw or cast spreader may not be applied easily. Some feature a dull-tipped lower blade that may be used against bare skin without causing discomfort. Others offer short-tipped, long throw action to enhance cutting strength in a small, precise location--such as cutting through multiple layers of fiberglass at a joint.
